At SRS Care Solutions providing high-quality care to our service users is our top priority. Our home carers strive to achieve this daily, ensuring you or your family member are in safe hands and instilling trust in our company.
We hear many amazing stories from our home care teams of how our carers have been supporting our service users beyond what is expected of them.
One such story features Lorraine McFarlane, a carer from our South Lanarkshire team who assisted a service user when emergency services were required. The story comes from Rebekah, a paramedic who was on duty that evening:
“I would like to compliment a member of your staff, Lorraine McFarlane, who went above and beyond her role while attending to a service user on the 22nd of June 2022.
Lorraine contacted 999 shortly after entering the service user’s home as they were having difficulty breathing. Our assessment suggested the patient should have been assessed at the hospital, but the service user was determined not to go. The ambulance crew arranged with the Hamilton out-of-hours GP service for medications for the patient.
Lorraine had already stayed beyond her shift finishing time to assist the patient and crew but also travelled to pick up the prescription for the patient, even though the crew were going to arrange further help to get them.
Lorraine ensured the patient had everything they may have needed to be comfortable that night and was very pleasant and so helpful to the crew. Lorraine is an asset to your team, and we can’t thank her enough for all her help.”
South Lanarkshire’s Registered Manager, Ashleigh, arranged to recognise Lorraine’s fantastic efforts and presented her with a bottle of prosecco, a box of chocolates, a well-done balloon as well as a thank you card which was signed by multiple staff expressing their thanks to Lorraine.
We must also add our thanks to Lorraine for her dedication to SRS Care and her outstanding attitude towards her service users, job, and fellow staff.
